135 years of supporting women
For more than 135 years, Avon has been here. Founded in 1886 as the California Perfume Company by David H. McConnell, Avon has become an iconic company. Who doesn’t know the phrase, “Ding, dong! Avon calling!”
McConnell was a door-to-door book salesman, and he gave perfume samples to the women of the homes as he made his rounds. The fragrances turned out to be more popular than the books, and the company was born. And the first Avon Lady at that time in the late 1880s was indeed a lady, Mrs. PFE Albee.
Since the beginning, Avon has given women the opportunity to be financially independent by offering top of the line products and changing to adapt to the times.
